ANGEL PARK GOLF CLUB AWARDS SCHOLARSHIP TO EVAN SALCIDO
Palo Verde High School grad earns $500 for college

LAS VEGAS, Nevada–Angel Park Golf Club recently awarded Evan Salcido with a $500 Angel Park/OB Sports Cardholder Scholarship. The scholarship is one of many value-added benefits of the OB Sports Golf Card – Las Vegas, an annual frequent-player program that offers preferred green fees at Angel Park (and other local clubs) along with a bunch of other perks. The scholarship is available to the cardholder’s college-bound dependents. They simply submit an application, letters of recommendation and any other pertinent information, and Angel Park’s scholarship committee awards the scholarship to one student based on the merits of his/her high school achievements. Scottsdale, Arizona-based OB Sports Golf Management established the scholarship program in 2008 at a number of golf clubs under its management, Angel Park Golf Club being one of them.

“I truly appreciate the scholarship from Angel Park,” said Salcido.  "My dad and I tee it up there a lot.  Guess we have another reason to love it.  I'll be headed off to Ohio State University in a few short weeks.  The extra $500 will certainly help."

“Congratulations Evan!” stated Stead. “He certainly deserves it. In fact, his application was loaded with impressive high school achievements. It’s our pleasure to give his college education a humble boost.”

ANGEL PAR GOLF CLUB HONORED BY GOLF DIGEST
AS ONE OF AMERICA'S TOP 50 COURSE FOR WOMEN

LAS VEGAS, Nev. Angel Park Golf Club was named as one of “America’s Top 50 Courses for Women,” by Golf Digest magazine.

“We take our loyalty to female guests very seriously,” said David Stead, Director of Golf at Angel Park Golf Club. “Although the game of golf sort of started out as a male-centric game, I gotta tell you that the ladies who tee it up at our club are just as captivated with this wonderful game as the men. Their participation is good for everyone.”

As explained in the March 2010 issue of Golf Digest, golf clubs that made the list featured “female-friendly design, amenities, courteous staff, programs and an atmosphere that appeals to women.” The editors relied on a panel of more than 100 of its female golf course raters who fanned out over the country to nominate and evaluate the multitude of daily-fee and resort courses based on, “how well they met the women-friendly criteria established by the editors. Among them: at least one set of tees less than 5,300 yards, at least two sets of tees with USGA Slope and Course Ratings for women, minimal forced carries from the forward tees, and run-up areas to most or all greens.”

“When one takes a look at the demographic profile of golfers, they’ll see that the female contingent is the fastest growing group,” said Phil Green, President of OB Sports, management firm for Angel Park Golf Club. “We are pleased that Angel Park Golf Club was recognized for creating an environment that is welcoming for female golfers and that encourages further enjoyment of the game by all who frequent this popular Las Vegas golf facility.”
